Cheapest CAIPS notes ....... only for 5$

Hi forum members....... Just wanted to share the info that we do not need to pay $20-25 or more for CAIPS notes. U can get them for only $5 from cic website itself if u have someone near and dear in canada to collect it on your behalf.

Pl. read the link carefully, the relevant lines for ordering CAIPS for $5 says that you need to be a Canadian citizen, PR etc. to be able to order it. I don't think most of us in that state as yet :

I don't think so...... They already mentioned in TIPS that caips are for immigration files abroad and we can access the service by sendin money order only.

You can get the CAIPS for $5 only if you have someone in Canada with PR status to file and receive it on behalf of you (The applicant need to authorize). In this case you need to fill in applicants form with signing authorization form and the person in CAN (to be submitted on behalf the application pack) need to send his/her PR docs along with the receiver address and the $5 DD/postal order to the recommended official address for the CAIPS... If you go through the concerning CIC web page you will be able to realize it. There are also some specific guideline of threads on How to order for CAIPS without any agency also can be browsed using the search option of this forum.

If that was the case we would have known it long time ago. As described by fariza they are only $5 becasue they want somebody to apply on your behalf in canada.

Always glad to help in case I can... BTW I am thinking of applying for CAIPS in a few weeks time myself if I don't get status change, does anybody here have any reliable contact in Canada (as I don't know anybody there)?

You can approach any willing forum friend already landed in canada. Otherwise you can try lawpoint.com.... they probably charge $25-30 and will send you the scanned CAIPS note in your e mail straightway within 45-55 days
