What else can we do ... I can deffer it to Jan 2013 ... I dont understand y they r taking so much time ... Do they asked u for any additional documents ?

ask ur university how late u can join. wait till that date and hope ffor the best after that ask ur uni to defer ur semester if u will not get ur visa by that time. i think there will not be any other option...

I suppose usually you can join within 2 weeks of the start date of the class. If you've already paid the fees and registered for the courses then you may need to keep an eye on the add/drop deadline because you'll need to get the refund on your money just in case you don't hear back from the high commission.

I am not sure if the 2 week window I mentioned above is through university. Its usually the immigration officer at the border who is picky with the dates. Don't panic, wait until the first week of September. And, keep in touch with your admission consultant at university.
