This most definitely will divert workload towards family sponsorship cases and decrease processing times.

we would assume so, but on their website it doesn't state/hint that by pausing that they will be tending to sponsorship cases... instead they are trying to clear the backlog in that particular area + developing new rules and regulations for those two areas... FSWP & IIP, so that when the new batches apply in those categories, they automatically fall under the new rules... unfortunately i dont see that expediting our cases or having any effect on these... if any very minimal...

No yaar, they were not all war criminals. Going by what Kenney said they were regular joes pretending to maintain Canadian residence...anyway..

“…we’ll be preventing those individuals from becoming permanent residents where appropriate, if they have not met the legal requirement to maintain residency, we’ll be revoking their residency. If they’re in Canada, we’ll be eventually pursuing deportation against those individuals,” the citizenship and immigration minister added.

Man, lol, u guys are scaring her like she is some hardcore criminal.... Dont mix up various things and start assuming.... All thise 1800+ cases reopened were of ppl that were war criminals, or criminals none the less... There is no harn in visiting ur spouse for any stretch of time as long as a citizen...

Yes, it surely will decrease the time for spousal sponsorship. However, the "pakistanis" are always the outcast. LOL. we'd probably still be sitting at 26 months.

Not a good news for people back home who were intented to apply for Immigration but it may speed-up the process of sponsorship cases and other immigration cases that are already in line.

lol...maybe but I feels Pakistani's are the opposite. We hardly ever prepare for anything, we lack discipline, we have this "jo hoga dekha jai ga" mentality. a very laissez faire sort of attitude in most aspects of life..

you are welcome, if it was the other way around i would have stated it as that... actually hum Pakistaniyon ki problem yeh hai keh agar koi hum sey simply sawal pochay toh hum wajuhaat sochnay shuru ho jatay hain, ke yeh sawal kia toh kyon kia... like "hi how are you?" and we reply "i am happy, coz i passed my exams, as my parents wanted me to pass them as that was the only way for me to be able to get a girlfriend, now i am kinda concerned about the mental state of my girlfriend, but i am glad that i atleast have one, and i am 110% sure that when i tell her my feelings, she too will accept me as her bf and her true love, how excited she will be when i come across her the first time "... awkward... i am fine ty would have been good enough...

whether good or bad we over analyze everything to the point its against us... i cant recall exactly which form it was, but it clearly states if you yourself are outside of canada while applying and that you intend to return to canada to live here once your spouse gets sponsorship... thats when you have to prove to them that yes you will be living here... and there is no clause in your citizenship that you can't be outside canada or it will be revoked... thats non-sense... yes if you are on welfare and then outside canada, you have a problem, or committing crimes outside canada, you have a problem, if you are a clean and abiding citizen, do as you please...

now if you ask me personally, i would be back and forth to my wife to make sure her cooking and cleaning skills haven't deteriorated, now that is something i would be concerned about

I wonder if any more of the December cases have heard back, I know one of them did.
Also its unfortunate we dont have any members on this forum who had their file transferred in January 2012.
It would have been good to see when the first Jan case gets picked up.
