go here and you can pay it online... once you pay the fees... at the end there will be a reciept, print it and attach it to the application...

below are the categories you pay for given you have no dependents and only a spouse...

Sponsorship application (per application) 1 $75.00 $75.00
Principal applicant 1 $475.00 $475.00
Right of Permanent Residence Fee 1 $490.00 $490.00
Total amount for all applications: $1,040.00
my husband already paid 1100$ but one column we did wrong one ..instead of paying right of permanent residence fee awe apy the column of any dependant or spouse of applicant even we dont have so we paid 550$ instead of 490$.
should we pay 490$ or they can adjust by themselves?

simply call cic-m or cic-ottawa and tell them what you wrote above, they will fix it for you and refund you the difference... also write them an email at the same time... but do it asap...

I wonder how long it takes to do initial Background checks......

mostly its that one with the females as applicants ;) lol...

atm i really confused now with all this files are with cic-o and not isl for the 2012 cases... so wrote an email to both cic-o and isl... and lets see what the outcome is... i dont want to be sending additional info to isl when the file is in ottawa or the other way around, plus getting rid of the confusion altogether...

Yes I did the same. I emailed CHC, been 3 weeks still no response from them (Slowest email you'll ever get back). However I called CIC, they didn't specifically tell me that my file is in Ottawa. They did confirm that my file is not lost and its in "process" (though no change in ecas). I had recieved in email from ISB in july, stating my file wasn't there?. I was freaking out, then i found out my file is being worked on somewhere. I know ISB doesn't touch your file until 6-10mths down the road. Since agent said it's in "process" can it be in Ottawa ?? Who knows....

they prob meant its in process to isl...??? or that its in process ie. waiting its due time before getting touched...??? good God everything is so vague with these immigration folks... they dont clearly tell you anything... lets see what response i get...

well if they are asking you for additional proof of relatonship then that means your step 2 has commenced- and you should be getting your visa soon..you are the first 2012 case in step 2. :o

I think the time is 66 days and they are currently working on apps submitted on 25th June 2012.

Guys, my lawyer told me to just pay the $550 for now .. and I paid that but online I see that if you pay the $490 resident fees the processing time is quick.. Is that true?

Any help will be appreciated.

pay them both- its faster.

Ok I am a little confused about this whole Ottawa thing! Does anyone know when did they initialize this project? The reason I ask this is because I applied in jan 2012 and went for my rukhsati in March and when I came back I voluntarily sent a “massive” package with pics, tickets etc… to CIC-I. I never heard from them in regards to receiving it or not, should I assume my file went to Islamabad or ask them?

Should I just pay it at the bank then.. and where should I sent the receipt to ? Because my lawyer hasn't told me so. So confused!
