Dear members, my wife will be arriving Canada next week. I am looking to buy medical insurance for her. I need some of yours suggestion and advice about it. Thanks a lot folks and hope all your immigration cases get resolved very soon inshallah

My wife received her passport back today!

Our timeline is:

Applied: Sep 2010
File transfer: Oct 2010
Re-med: Nov 2011
Re-pcc, IMM, RPRF: Jan 2012
PPR: Mar 2012
Visa: Apr 2012

As Mike says above, all cases are different. I would urge caution in trying to interpreting the guidelines CHC follows. For example, my wife has extensive travel history that CHC didn't even know about till Feb 2012 but the next month she got PPR, so it isn't clear that travel history has to delay a case.

Congratulations :)

Hey everyone, salam-alaikum,

I have some strange news to share. Just a little while ago, my husband received a phone call in Saudi Arabia from CHC-Islamabad. The man was a Canadian and said my husband's file is currently in review so he needed to ask some questions. He asked his date of birth, my name, what year we got married in and where we got married. Thats it. He thanked him for his time and khalaas.

What does this mean? My ecas status still says "Application Received" since the beginning of time. Also, we emailed CHC on March 26 to ask if they received all the documents, forms, re-med and re-pcc that we sent and also for a status update. They never emailed back.

Im just a little worried now. Does this mean we might be put into the interview queue or something? Did anyone else get a phone call?

Walekum Assalam

Don't worry, the immigration officer was probably doing a random check and wanted to make sure that your husband knows the basic info etc etc. A few other people have got such calls, so don't worry. It means that they are reviewing your application and once the Immigration officer reaches a conclusion about your relationship, he will give instructions for the next step which would hopefully be Re-medical and then PPR.

We already sent Re-med in early March. Do you think he might be getting his PPR soon? How long might it take? Now Im nervous...

Check your Due Date under Medical 1, I would think its the duedate of your husband's Re-medical. That is when they will look for the results and upon checking the results, issue PPR in my opinon.

Medical 1 was updated on 2012/03/05 :S
