Client ID number given to sponsored person in this it has address of sponsor n when did CIC M received ur file N when did they started the process ..........as well their is a detail about applicant when his file has been transfered N all about process thingee.

File number has only applicant detail on it his address as well when they received N all about process.

So this Client ID number u got from CIC M .............u havent received n applicant file number by e-mail for applicant from CIC ISB........if u havent so better e-mail CIC ISB for it.........makesure when u mail them put ur client ID number ,ur name, date of birth.........same for hubby name N date of birth......as well when his file was transfered.

Okay sawera i will...but yeh batao does it give different info or same?
Its kind of same ..........but is better to have applicant ID number ............bz sometimes their is a Address mistake or sometimes address disappear /appear(to make u happy may b u'll b hearing a good news soon), decesion made , medical received etc,etc ..............as u know they r working on his file they'll update it ,sometimes they dnt..............since i received my hubby file number i never opened my client ID number.

from what I understand it should be the same. Difference is when checking online and using Client ID, you enter Sponsor's details, Date of birth etc. When you use File number, you enter applicant info to check status.

I applied in Nov 2010 and AOR Dec 2010 but I had to email them in March to get File Number because neither I or my wife received it. Not sure if the 2011 people received them automatically via email or not.

Edit: What Sawera said too. I now only use my wife's File number to check as it may contain more recent status changes but i have no proof to back that theory.
