CHC, Islamabad Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2009 -2010

from what i heard it does pro-long the process if female change their name. For whatever reason even if you mention your old/new name CHC will do a background check with your new name and once they get nothing they will go back do a check on your previous name.

I really don't know how true this is but that's what i've heard. And this only applys if Wife is getting sponsered.

I have been waiting for 15 months now

Here's my time line:

March 2009 - Husband applied
April 2009 - Sponsorship Approved
May 2009 - Islamabad CHC started processing the application
Nov 2009 - They asked why have we not lived togehter and when will rukhsati will be done (We had just done the nikah, which is what everyone does I have heard.. people wait for the visa to come before they get the rukhsati done!!!)
Nov 2009 - We mailed them we didnt live together since rukhsati wasnt done and its planned for march
Dec 2009 - They asked to submit rukhsati AND honeymoon pictures : @
Mar 2010 - We submitted Rukhsati and Honeymoon pictures
Jul 6th 2010 - They asked to submit updated police certificates
July 9th 2010 - we submitted
July 12th 2010 - we received a letter to get my medical done again
July 26th 2010 - Got my medical done
July 28th 2010 - they sent letter that if i had done my medical i should send passport as visa seems to be ready for Issuance.

Waiting now

its your last name(family name), your date of birth and place of birth

what a bull*censored word* they said "We started processing your application." we submitted my case in dec 2009

seem like you could have gotten you're visa in November if rukhsati was done.

Everyone else who's waiting for over 14months could this be the reason?

I agree.. then again u never know with these people..

And yes I changed my name.. My Nikah was done in Jan 2009 - and the whole changing name, NIC and then on passport took 2 months .. and then we applied in march,..

My father in law says its better to change the name because then for future times they make trouble saying that if you're family then why is your family name not same...

I dont know if that adds a delay to you application or not.. what this person said about background checks does make sense...

It seems like every thing that could delay my case happened with me .. But now they have said that its ready.. so lets hope inshAllah I get it soon

Last night I was watching a documentry programe at CBC regarding Flood & Relief efforts in Pakistan and the programe really compare the Pakistan flood data & Canadian efforts with Haiti earthquick data & canadian efforts. I remeber a few of them.

Peoples affected in Haiti: 3 Million
Peoples affected in Pakistan: 21 Million
Haitian in Canada about : 150,000 per CBC
Pakistanies in Canada about: 300,000 per CBC
Private Donation received for Haiti: Dont remember the number but it was in Million
Private Donation received for Pakistan: about $200,000 only

In Haiti: Special immigration team went down there to speed up the process most cases were completed in 12week (3Month)
In Pakistan: NO SUCH THING

What a pure discrimination and even the programe hoster argued peoples to come up front and help PAKISTAN by seeing the daily video and pictures on TV how bad the situation is.

As a Canadian it is my right to raise my voice against human discrimination. I suggest every body to log into the cp24 website (address provided at top) and share your opinion and argued them to host a special documentry program on this.

Here I go to CP24 site now to write my opinion.

BestPlace4u, I understand there are many channels, but CP24 is pure local Canadian news channel where you can send your STORY, your opinion to have it media and governtment attention, however it is not necessory that the governtment will change their policies but atleast it bring to their attention.

Like I read on this forum and many other forums peoples want to write a letter to minister, on other forum some peoples were planing to get to gather and march outside Governtment office in Ottawa, which I think is going to be a hassel.

Simple write your STORY,ISSUE,OPINION at www.CP24.com and if they have many serious emails on the same topic, I bet you they will host a live programme to discuss it.

Like last night they did and the Topic was "Flood Relief in Pakistan", where they were taking live public calling & emails and getting your ideas how Canadians & Govt of Canada can help.

By the way I did send my opinion in email indicating that beside helping by donations, Govt should send additional immigration officers to PAKISTAN to speed up the family sponsership process likewise Govt did in Haiti earthquick, so that flood affected families can reunite with their loved ones in Canada fast.

But as useall we Pakistanies said BIG things just by words but when its become an opportunity to perform something we just sit back & watch, during 1 hour live show at CP24 hardly 3-4 peoples call & express their opinion.
