1. I have ordered information on electronic file under the Act To Information: What's full form of gcms/caips, I hear and use it a lot but want to understand what they stand for?

2. I have sent CHC-I a package, after how many days will they reply on the question?

Thanks folks.. :)

They give 30 days but even if the results get there in 45 days, that is still okay.. So its totally upto you if you want to go to Lahore to get it done OR if you want to get it done in Karachi.

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I understand your frustration.. I hope you get your VISA very soon InshaAllah :)

AOA everyone,

I'm an old 2010 member, July 2010 AOR. My husband had his remedical and Police check done in July 2011, and since then nothing. I've done everything from mailing Islamabad to getting the MP involved. The MP told me in May that my husband will be getting another medical and visa soon, but we've received nothing yet. I am seeing no light at the end of tunnel, is someone else facing the same situation or is it just our case?

JT.

1) GCMS stands for The Global Case Management System. Its an electronic system of the cases and has the extract/summary of most of the stuff thats on the actual paper file.

2) You have sent them a package and asked a question? Most likely after they actually open the package and look at the content of the package. They open the mail after 3-4 weeks and reply accordingly. So you are probably looking at 45-60 days if they find your question important.

Thanks Danny,

1. So my application for electronic file info goes to this system automatically? and CAIPS?

2. Hmm.. quite efficient these people at CHC-I..

Alhamdulilah my hubby receieved re-med today.. he said that section A is stamped for the May 15th, however on the actual envelope letter it indicated that it left islamabad yesterday and he recieved it today.. :) so relieved

A couple questions I have please:

1) once he does his re-med - will he recieve a reciept from the doctor? and would he tcs this to CHC?
2) in the letter it does not indicate passport photocopies are required but some people in the forum have said to take them - is it needed?
3) also is says to provide photo negative if available? is this really important?

Thanks in advance!!

Its a file created by the staff @ CPC Mississauga first and the sponors info is added on it. Then when the physical file is transferred to Islamabad, then they add complete info of the sponsor and the applicant. So when you will receive you GCMS notes, go over it and it will show you different criterion showing the sponsor and the applicant's detail etc etc.

CAIPS is the old system that was replaced by GCMS. It was a similar system but I guess GCMS is more advanced and efficient so it has replaced CAIPS.

Many Many Congratulations :)

Told you to wait till June 15th and Alhumdulillah your hubby got it today :)

- He can choose to send the receipt to CHC-Islamabad by TCS.

- The photo negative is not important.

Thank you Danny bro :)

I am so glad I waited and did not contact them again..

This is in reply to your email dated April 21, 2012, addressed to the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, concerning your sponsorship undertaking on behalf of ...........................’s application for permanent residence.

Please be assured that Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) reviews all applications objectively and consistently to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all applicants. We assess each application on its own merit against the program requirements.

Our records confirm that your sponsorship undertaking was approved and your spouse’s application was received at the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad in July 2010, for processing. Visa officials have determined that a personal interview is warranted in her case. Currently, this file is in the interview queue. Please be assured that your wife will be contacted approximately 3-6 weeks prior to the interview with the time, date and location.

Further information on processing times can be found at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp.

Your request to have the processing of this application expedited is understandable. However, in the interest of fairness and program integrity, our policy is to process applications in the order in which they are received. To move one file ahead in the queue would not be fair to the many applicants in similar situations who had applied earlier. (jhoooot duniya ka sub sy bara jhoooooot)

I hope that this information is of assistance.
