I have a cousin who is also going through this sponsorship process. He is sponsoring his wife, he sponsored in july 2010 but almost 2 months ago they asked for his wife's passport and requested for remedical. They did both and kept waiting but they got a reply from CHC-I that CIC want the wife to get some sort of injection which would delay the process for another 2-3 months. The application was submitted through a lawyer and they contacted the lawyer to find out what is this injection for? and he said, now Canada wants sponsored person to get this injection. And, everybody will have to go through this. I don't believe what his lawyer said, but has anybody else experienced the same thing.

I will mention the detail of what kind of injection it was as soon as i hear something from him.

The injection must be for the cure of Burkafism, so she doesn't wear a burka when she comes to Canada.

This is the first time I am hearing such a report, can you find out more about this injection.

Maybe they saw something in the medical

Ok guys, i like to share an interesting thing about the CHC-ISL which i came to know just today.

The reason why all this delay is happening is because no desi / local person is allowed to issue visa and only the staff that come from Canada does have that power. Local staff only screen genuineness of marriage , re-med, pcc etc etc and make a recommendation , Based on those notes VO decides what to do. Secondly the important staff members that comes only comes for short durations or they are sent on short term contracts + since they aren't with their families so usually they stay there for few weeks and then go back and come back after 2-3 months break.. Or someone else is sent if they are not available. The reason of why this is happening is due to the fact that canadian govt is facing a lot of shortage for federal workers + security situation in Pak + mainly this whole immigration thing depends upon the social and business ties with any country -

The reason why India is fast because of business & social ties and the staff members are deputed with their families as our govt feel its safe to for its citizens to live there.

So friends, all we can do is wait and wait... OR if you are citizen just quit ur job and start living with your spouse in Pakistan because i don't think this situation will become any better in next couple of years...

if they have lots of issues with security and staff in Pakistan then y dont they simply change the Visa Office?? this is insane to keep the spouses apart and make lame excuses
