CHANGING WORK PERMIT INTO PR

Dear All,

I have heard different stories regarding Changing of Work Permit to PR. One Common story is that your work permit must be of Middle Management position to be converted into PR. If this story is true what about people who are not on Middle Management Position?

How long does it take to convert WP into PR. People say 1-Year?

In order to apply for PR through CEC, you must have 1 year of experience in a skilled position in NOC 0, A or B. It takes around a year for the application to be processed.

If your job is not NOC 0, A or B, then you do not qualify for CEC.

Many Thanks sir, I do see my Occupation in NOC but that is 2011 NOC is it still applicable now? Do we have a NOC-2013 ???

The NOC list came out in 2011 is still being used by CIC.

Many Thanks Sir. i can see my occupation in this List so that means if I work in this Occupation in Canada ( Give or take a few) I am eligible to apply for PR. Provided that I can find a job in this occupation.

Please do inform me if someone travels on a Work-Permit to Canada his/her children can get reduction in school fee ( Primary School)? or If travelling on Education visa gets reduction in school fee? for the children ( i am sorry if I phrase the question wrong).

1. Depends on the province. Minor children of work permit holders and study permits in BC, which are valid for 1 year or more, don't pay international fees for elementary and secondary schools.

Please do inform me How can my Spouse & Child apply for Canada visa when I get my Work Permit. Under What visa category they can apply? Can their visa be rejected even if I get my Work Permit?
