I am currently in the third year of my PhD program, I finished all coursework and Im working on my thesis. For the past few months, my advisor has been on medical leave and I have been informed recently that it is likely that he can't return.
Given this circumstances, I was thinking about mastering out of my program. I would have completed all credits towards the masters and only need to present a thesis, which I can do with the current state of my PhD research.
Do I need to inform immigration about this change? Would this impact my PGWP eligibility?
