Him coming up on the end of my second year of IEC, July 19th. I intend to stay on as a visitor and travel around. However the day my work permit runs out I'm mean to be in whistler for a friends wedding. So what I want to know is can I change onto a tourist visa before my work permit runs out.mor if I left it closer to the 30 days before applying if they hadn't reached a decision could a stay on implied status without having to go to the boarder on the 19tj
Thanks and help would be appreciated

it's generally recommended when changing your status/extend your stay in canada, to apply at least 30 days prior to your current visa expiration date. i *believe* if your visa expires while an extension application is pending, you have implied status until a decision is made. if your request has been denied, you have to voluntarily leave Canada ASAP so as to not run into problems with CBSA/CIC and risk any future entries.
