Changing jobs while working on a Workers VISA

Hi,

I have a VISA valid until Jan 2016 which I obtained through an intra-company transfer from the UK to Canada. My VISA states that I can only work for the named company I obtained the VISA with. If I wanted to change companies before this VISA expires, is this possible to do? Would I need a Labour Market Impact Assessment? And what category would I apply under?

If you want to work for a different company then your new company needs to first obtain an approved LMIA. You must then apply for a new work permit. Once the new work permit is approved, you can then start working for your new employer.
