I am currently on maintained status, my previous closed work permit expired but I am in the process of obtaining the RP.

I've had an offer for a summer job of 5 months / 30 hrs per week starting in May. Can I apply for a new work permit with the new job offer (I have the CSQ already so shouldn't need LMIA assessment) while on maintained status, and use the request to start working while the application is being processes form - code PPCHANGEWORK2020 ( https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...t/temporary/extend/change-jobs-employers.html )? This should allow me to work in a couple of weeks after I send the form.

For context, my RP should be quite close (I am on final decision stage) and I also applied for a BOWP 2 months ago, which is still in process. I really want to start working early May with the new offer and both RP and BOWP timelines may take still several weeks/couple months (we never know).

Thanks to anyone who has a suggestion, I really don't want to spend more money on immigrations lawyers again.

I don't know if this will work since you don't currently hold a valid closed work permit. You can try and see what happens. If you are denied authorization to work while they process your application then you'll have to wait for your new work permit or the BOWP to be approved before you can start with your new employer.

Has anyone applied for work authorization under PPCHANGEWORK2020 lately? How long did it take to hear back? Any info would be super helpful—thanks!

I did on april 25th and still waiting. I called immigration as it passed the "10-15 days" promised time-line but as always they could only tell me that it has been received and it's being processed. My employer is waiting and so am I...

Me on April 17. Still waiting..

Have you got any news @ssun1 ?
Is anyone else in this situation? It's really stressful now having to keep telling my employer that I can't start working.
It's been 3.5 weeks for me and haven't received any email yet.

No, mine has been submitted for over a month. Still not hearing anything.

Still not hearing anything, and can't get in touch with any agent on the phone even calling right when they open. Does it make sense to send another webform? They long passed their "10 to 15 days" and I don't know if my employer will wait much longer. The business is open ans waiting for me to start. What's the point of offering this option if it does not work?

No harm sending a web form.
