Hello,

I am a provincial nominee here in NL. I have already done my medical and is just waiting for the next steps to residency. My question is that, I am on a work permit with employer A and currently looking for another employer. There have been some interest on me already.

At first the immigration officer told us that we have the option to transfer work permit without the need for LMO and if we get a job offer letter we should give it to him and he will give us an endorsement letter to submit to CIC for the work permit transfer, but now he said that he wants to verify that my current employer is OK with me leaving. Of course they will not be. And he said that he cannot support us if our current employer is not OK with any of their internationals leaving.

So my question is: Can I still get a transfer? Without an LMO or an endorsement from the PNP office. Is possible to get an open work permit instead?

Thank you in advance and I appreciate your time and shared knowledge.

I am in the last step of my process at well. I am on a closed work permit as while waiting for my pr approval. I am now with employer A, however, I am not motivated anymore. I was seeking for an other opportunities within employer A. and I spoke to my PNP advisor and also cic. They said it was okay as long as I am still with employer A, however, it may experience a delay of the process since I am at the final step already. They said, they would not issue me an open work permit ( I asked too ) but with a job offer letter, PNP can assist me with a new work permit with restrictions by issuing me a letter. Then, I need to submit this letter to cic to request a new work permit. After I obtain this new work permit, I need to inform cic for my pr update. Keep this in mind, this long process is only for me to change my position within employer A who is my sponsor for the application (coz I m under a work and skills driven steam).

I asked around about the job changing and work permit situation. Although, PNP advisor and cic both said it was okay, I still didn't want to cause any delay and put my application in risk. I did not go for the position. People on this forum suggested me to wait as well, I believe more opportunities will come once I get my pr status. I just need to be wait patiently. I know it is getting close to the end for me.

Well, I understand your situation, coz I want to quit this position so bad that I almost walked away and wanted to withdraw my pr application because of my current job. I hope our ppr comes soon.

I hope this helps.

Hi everyone , I have done my medical and I'm pnp applicant. I have an open workpermit and I changed my job , I already applied for revision of my pnp , do I need to tell any thing to cic ? Pnp officer told me that no need to send any thing to cic until you get new pnp . Will it make effect on my file ?
