I was wondering if anyone knows any details about this. I know that the photos we sent to CIC together with our application are used to attach to the COPR.

Since I took my photos, I had a change in my appearance, namely I removed a prominent mole from my cheek. It is visible in the photos (was dark) but right now there is only a small scar left. The removal was recommended by the dermatologist, it wasn't for aesthetics.

Do I have to re-do the photos or will they not care about this detail?

Edit: And since we're on the subject, I also changed my hair color (from dark to red) and my hairstyle (from medium length to short).

CIC will not care about it. In fact when you do land, you will provide your latest PR pictures with mole removed and they will be used on the COPR and PR card.

As for your hair colour change, you still need to list your natural hair colour. Not your dyed colour. Besides the PR photo card will be black and white even though you submitted the colour PR picture.

Thanks for your answer. So basically, I'd have to have a new set of photos with me when I arrive at landing?

You will be required to submit 2 more latest PR pictures at your landing.

I know my answers are based on "inland" and you did the "outland". I do believe you need to have 2 photos ready at landing so that they can send the picture for PR card processing.

Great, that's good news, thanks.

Outland doesn't normally require new pictures to be brought to the landing, unless there was an issue with the previous pictures. One copy of the COPR will have a PR picture attached to it; the officer will take that copy for the PR card.

Does this mean that the OP cannot get the picture changed as they would be using the picture already submitted with the application?

If this is the case, I guess the OP would have to wait for a new PR renewal in 5 years time to get a new PR picture without mole.

I don't really care if my PR picture has a mole in it or not, what concerns me is if the landing officer will have a problem with the change in my physical appearance. If COPR and Passport show a picture with a visible mole on my face and I show up without the mole, what would happen? Would they doubt my identity?

I wouldn't worry about that. It is no difference from those who have 10 year passports with 1 year validity left. I am sure the photo looks a lot more different in photo appearances in comparison to your missing mole difference in PR photos.

It won't be an issue. People have moles revolved all the time. What matters is the structure and shape of your face. If you'd had massive plastic surgery, it would be a problem.

well this has made me think wow i have never put my true colour of hair down on my passport ... I have colored my hair so many times . Well always blond, but i never even thought of it . I think i am a light brown .. :D

Excuse me! Could you tell me what happened to you afterwards? Well, I meet the same problem. I am going to study in CA, but I did an operation to remove a mole on my face. I have a certificate of disease in Chinese from my doctor.

I had no problem! It wasn't even mentioned at all. Good luck.
