I have counting on the LMIA points for my PR application and I'm waiting to get an ITA. Now that there will be no additional points for LMIAs does this mean that the cut off scores should drop?
In addition it seems there is a In-Canada Focus Category that started this year. Will this also mean more draws for temporary workers already in Canada that are applying for PR and mean that the points will also drop?

I'm all for getting rid of fraud but it seems a bit unfair to have legitimate cases also be impacted. Since 2019 I've been trying to get my PR in Canada and its been getting more and more difficult. Surely there is a way to investigate or audit companies more to rid the system of fraud

I think it's too soon for any of us to guess if points will drop. Logically one would think they will. However also keep in mind that IRCC has reduced quotas for next year so hard to say if there will be more draws or not.

You would also have to wait to find out till this policy comes in effect in Spring 2025. If you get your ITA before that, there's a chance you still might get those 50 points. Again, it's still too early to tell!

Well it appears as everyone is well aware . Immigration fraud is rampant in this country , it’s not a one off

And immigrating is supposed to be difficult. It’s getting the best of the best people for the country. That’s obviously not what’s been happening

I have been reading more about the fraud and was really surprised how bad it is.
I have been trying to immigrate to Canada since 2017 and have followed all the rules but then Covid happened and made things more difficult and now I've finally moved back to Canada ready to make a permanent life here, but these new changes make it again more difficult.

Why should I be penalized because of the actions of others who are defrauding the system? (I'm not from India)

I will still try to get PR and see what happens. I'm wanting to move here for a certain lifestyle and to be honest Canada has a lot of problems compared to many other developed countries. For me it is a sacrifice living in Canada compared to my home country but I think it's worth it for me.
