Change status from student to visitor

My wife study permit will be expired November 2015 but we decided that she will stop going to school (for ESL) until her PR is finalized because we just bought a new house and living on one source of income now. Do we need to change to visitor status (she submitted OWP with PR app and got AOR).

Please help us with your advices. Will she be in trouble if she doesnt go to school?

It is my understanding, that since you submitted an OWP with the application, your wife would be "implied status" as a visitor. If her OWP was approved while she was on study permit, she wouldn't have been allowed to continue her studies as OWP doesn't grant ability to continue studying. She would have had to quit school the moment her OWP was approved and only allowed to work. In her case, she would have been on "implied status" as a visitor at least until OWP has been finalized.
