Change of status to students

My name is Godwin am currently in Ghana on a temporary visit .. I have send a school that I want to continue my education in a masters program . Do I need to go back to my country and apply or I can change my status whiles am in Canada .. ?

You need to apply for a study permit to a visa office from a country where you are able to demonstrate the strongest ties such as your home country

Sorry was typing error .. what I meant earlier was that am currently in Canada on temporary visit and I’ve seen a school here which I want to do my masters program .. Can I change my status whiles am in Canada Or what do I need to do thanks

You will need to apply for a study permit from your home country

Getting into a masters program usually requires a few months. You would be looking at May or Sept 2019. One of the biggest hurdles to being approved fora student visa is proving that you have strong ties to your home country and you will return after your studies. Your chances of approval are much better from your home country. Technically you can apply through the US but you can't send your application to Canada directly.
