We are shifting from Calgary to Montreal, we currently have Alberta Health Card and a family doctor here in Caglary. My wife is currently pregnant in to her 3rd month. When we move to Montreal, how long it will take to get the health card in Montreal? How to manage doctor visits during this period? Since there won’t be any family doctor setup at such a short notice in Montreal - what’s the process to get visit a doc for check ups?

You’ll need to go to your local CLSC when you arrive in Montreal. From there you will get referred to an OB. Finding doctors can be harder in Quebec versus Alberta because they are paid significantly less so many move to provinces that pay the most like AB and ON.
