Hi to everyone,
My file is in process, since 29 June 2010 and i was just trying to see, if the numbers of my past companies are working. I found that the companies had changed names and some phone numbers have changed also. Since i knew the names, i quickly went to the websites and found that many changes had taken place. Hr. had been replaced in one company and others address has changed.

1) My question is should i send to Visa office the new address and phone numbers? or

2) Should i asked the companies to write a complete new reference including new address and phone numbers?

My fear is if i a sk them it might take to long, since i am not there to push them up. They might do it , but it will take a long time to reach me, and also visa office.

Please waiting for suggestions.

someone else had the same problem yesterday. I guess you could write a letter to CIC and also point to a website where the numbers and addresses may be found. Wait for others to answer.

Thanks Maaties for the quick reply. i will be waiting for others for their response.

Yes, please send a letter and update.
Your file is in process, so you sure have the file number, so no problem

Hi Beauhoe,
Ok, I am going to use the two options, that is both E.mail and fax. This is to be certain that they will get the latest update , since this is very important.

Note well: I am sure, that if the people of the world did have love for each other like the members of this forum, i am sure they will be no fighting with others. I am so happy being a member of the great forum. When you need help the people are always there for you.

Thanks very much.

hi canada for all,
when it came to abidjan it,s better to email them i know what im talking about.
im new to this forum.i've also completed my mba and lived in a foreign country a the time of applying.

there is no option to let CIC know about your employer's changed address.
CIC must be informed about your change of address. This is the rule.
Let CIC call your employer, if they woudnt find them, CIC will make contact with you about this and provide them with updated employer address.

Don't worry! Even if you don't do anything, they will find out themselves.
Don't think that they just look at reference letter and call the number on it :)
They will, for sure, check it through Google before the call any number or visit any office :)

Is there a company under this name?
Did they change their numbers or address?
Did they go bankrupt?

Slavasz,
Thanks very much for the advice.

1) Yes it is an institution and has the name of the institution.
2) Well, they were a College and then finally upgraded to a full 4 year University, so they also changed the name, but i searched through Google and could still find the old name. Their address is still same.
3) No they are not bankrupt, they are still in business. Only some changes of Deans and names and some phone numbers. The dialing numbers have changed , they use to be 7, but they added another number so it is 8 numbers.

Slavasz like other members advised me to send them an e.mail with all the changes. I did exactly they way i was advised. For example i just said the institution was called X on my letter and now it is called Y and i provided their website and details and also the old name can still be found on Google.

The reason i decided to provide the info, is because it is not an English speaking country and hard to get through to someone who speaks English.
So with the details it will help the VO
Hope all will be fine.

Waiting patiently.

Hi Sweetypie,
Thanks a lot. I have already done so. I e.mailed them with all the detail changes. The good thing is that they are still in business.
Sweetypie i was thinking of faxing them also a copy, what do you think about faxing a copy of the same information. I do not want to entertain any comments like we did not receive your e.mail.

Waiting to read from you.
