Change of Address?

I want to apply for change of address to Indian Consulate in New York.

Passport:Issued from India

1) Does anyone have idea whether they will issue new passport or just stamp with new address on the old passport?
The reason I am asking is ...what will happen to my US, Canada visa stamps on the old passport in case if they issue new passport?

1. It is not necessary to go on changing any one's address on his passport every time. It can be done when re-newed or re-issued up on expiry.

3. If it is essential for any reason, contact Consulate or check the Embassy website.
2. If a new passport is issued, make a photocopy and send it to visa processing office with your file number on it either by post or fax.
