Dear Ankit,

As we have discussed many times before...

Initial apps stage: Yes. Anything & everything, which can be 'valued' for [thru a certified valuer].
Subsequent stages*: No. Now only what the CIC manual says'll be applicable;
quote/
SETTLEMENT FUNDS
Provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible currency available for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):
• Current bank certification letter; or
• Evidence of savings balance; or
• Fixed or time deposit statements.

unquote/

*This stage can be whenever the CHC asks for [if any], usually while pre-med request. But during Landing, definitely -by the IO at the POE.

Regards,
Qorax.

Should have added Quebec's as well

These amounts are in effect from January 1 to december 31, 2010.
Number of children One Adult Two Adults Dependent over 18
(Under 18 years old)
0 $2 748 $4 030
1 $3 692 $4 514 Add $1281 per child over 18
2 $4 168 $4 872
Additional Children Add $476 per child Add $358 per child under 18

Thanks a lot Qorax for the update.

Yes Brother,

It affects all: -moving to Canada this yr, or visa recd but not landed, or applying now, or meds/PPR expected now etc. etc.

If we are not yet 'in Canada', it affects us.

Regards.
:-) Thanks :-)

Just check on the CIC website, it still says the old amount

1 $10,833

and date modified is "Date Modified: 2009-12-15"

Well CIC is so confusing. Do you think they should contact the existing applicants and inform them about the recent updates. Thought the amount increased is not that much but still they should have some process and systems in place.

CIC is very slow

Hello Gents,
Very gud information. Being a new member in the area I like to thank u all for sharing very informative things in this site.

Highly appriciated

Rocky Bro,

U r right CIC is slow to update their own site. However, they have sent a circular to all SCIC consultants, it seems, a few days back. & most probably, they'd intimate the concerned applicants, as & when they r to submit updated POFs. I hope in another couple of days, the site gets updated too.

Regards.

shall we withdraw the money from bank after sending the proof to CIC. expect reply from Qorax

Till meds -OK to withdraw, though not fully.
Post meds, I advise to keep the POF at your bank a/c.

Hi guys,

I am new to the forum. I am about to submit my immigration papers as skilled worker class. As i understand from qorax that at this stage I can show POF in any form including bank account, certificates, bonds. Does it include amount invested in property which you have a mortgage on. Let's say you have paid 10% already and remaining is mortgaged. Can we show that and till what stage is that acceptable?

Secondly, if one doesn't have this amount in their bank accounts at the last stages that means that we wont be allowed to enter?

Thanks in advance.

On seminars it was mention that now property can be a proof of funds.

I am in the same boat as you. I am going to show it in Personal Net Worth:
value of the property-remained mortgage=net worth
