Does IRCC need to be informed if my marriage status changes AFTER I receive Permanent Residence?

I recently sponsored a common-law partner, whom recently landed and received PR. I would like to legally marry another individual, does IRCC need to be notified of the status change in marriage?

You don't need to notify IRCC. However you obviously won't be able to sponsor your new spouse for thee years from the date your common law partner landed and became a PR. You will also remain financially responsible for your common law partner for this three year period.
