Hello!

I am a little confused about my current situation... My boyfriend used to be a full time student, which allowed me to have an open work permit. When he finished school, he was given a pgwp... but since his job does not fall under the noc classifications 0, a or b, I was not allowed to apply for an extension on my permit and had to apply for a visitor visa instead. i applied on august and my work permit expired on september... i still haven't received anything yet, but i am guessing it's just taking a while for immigration to process all the applications. should i be worried?? i was told i would remain on implied status until i got my new visa...
If so, what are the conditions of this status??

I hope someone can help me clarify this... It's a bit confusing the implied status thing

Thanks!

Easiest way to get quick answers will be to use CIC's Help Centre - here is a brief on implied status on the 2nd bullet point. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=473&t=4

You have implied status as a visitor (can't work) until you receive a response from CIC.
