for the spouse sponsorship application all documents must be "certified True copies " of originals etc now in the guide on website it states the format " I _________ certify that _______documemt is bla bla" now all I have on my translated document is " Certified True copy issued on july , 2011" for example is that ok ?@??! or does it have to have different format? OMG please someone clarify this for meeeeeeeeeee ( Guide 3999 I think ?? is confusing)

:) thanks

Can someone shed some light for me regarding what's accepted for certifying a copy ? :)

Hi Tina, you can get the document copy certified by a notary or by a family doctor who will sign at the bottom with his seal and date and a notation that he/she has seen the original document and this copy is a true one. The notary or those who usually certify ( attest ) the document used to keep a rubber stamp with the required wording for certification. You don't have to give any format for that. The guide only gives an example for every one. If you are in Canada, your embassy/Consulate in Canada also will do the attestation. Take originals with photocopies ( one copy extra for their file ) together with your passport and resident proof. Hope you are clear now.
