Hi,

I am sponsoring my wife. I have her documents translated such as National ID, passport pages, etc. I was told that after translating them by a recognized translator, i need to notarize them at a public notary. But today, i was told that is not necessary.

Her documents are both stamped from her country's embassy and foreign affairs of the country she resides in.

i would like to know which one is true? do i need to notarize them? what about the marriage certificate that is issued from another country?

Thanks for your help

And the certified translator provided a certificate of translation, or a stamp, or other proof that they are a recognized certified translator?

If so, I don't believe they need to be notarized.
