Hi, anybody has experience sending your passport to Indian consulate by postal to get Certificate of Date of birth? Is it safe to send passport through mail? How long does it take to get it back? I live in Saskatchewan and will be sending it to Vancouver, BC.

Thanks!

Hi lilcysel,

I had sent my passport to the Indian Consulate in USA for three times as of now (for my birth certificate, passport renewal and Indian PCC) and I got it back within 3-4 weeks every time. It's better to use FedEx so that you have a tracking number for that. But if you can go in person, that's the best option.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks Sarayu! Really appreciate it! :)
