I am PR Canada. Stuck in India due to corona. Can I apply for emergency CERB $2000/while I am in India? I qualify all other points for CERB.

Did you have a job in Canada that you lost due to CERB? If so, when did you last work in that job?

I am free lancer there and have 5000 income last year. I came here in India in Nov 2019 for holidays and could not go back on 9th april2020 due to corona.
Had I been there i would have worked.

You didn't lose a job due to COVID-19, so you don't qualify.

But you weren’t here. That’s the point . You left Canada precovid .

You haven’t lived in Canada for over 6 months so of course you don’t qualify. Going to India last November is not a vacation you moved back to India.

But you are receiving a pension from India , and from your previous postings you have family there, so not really stranded.

No you can’t claim it even if you reach Canada. You are NOT qualified for the CERB whether you are here or not. You did NOT lose your job due to covid. Those who are getting the CERB while not eligible for them will be asked to pay them all back.

India closed International flights in March, so you could be back in January 2020.
You do not qualify for CERB
