Hello, everybody,

I am applying for PR right now via Canadian Experience Class. I have been in Canada for one and half years, and had worked experience the same period of time. In the beginning of December, I got invitation for applying permanent residency. I have a few questions about the supporting documents required, one is "Offer of Employment" and "Letter of Employment".

In terms of "Offer of Employment", Just quote from CIC website explanation:

"You must provide a job offer letter from the employer who wants to hire you. It must be printed on company letterhead, and state that you will be employed permanently in Canada by that company. The letter must specify whether the job is:
  • for continuous, paid, full-time work (at least 30 hours a week),
  • for work that is permanent and not seasonal,
  • skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC)
It says you must provide permanent offer, which I do not have at the moment, its valid only for one year. So how could I fix it?

For "Letter of Employment", is it just the one of job offer or something else?

Thanks a lot!

Correct, you should renew your job offer if you wish to claim the 50 points awarded for a valid job offer.

Not if you get the new job offer in writing before your ITA expires.

@DelPiero07, My work permit is valid for 3 years which ends August 31 2019. However my job offer(or offer of employment) does have a start date but not an end date. Would a new job offer be required or will the current one suffice?

I am waiting on my FBI clearance certificate which was received on Dec 15, 2017. I expect to get the certificate by end of March, based on the timelines in this forum. I hope to submit e-APR by beginning of April if I receive an ITA in January.

It depends, what kind of work permit are you currently holding?

Closed WP.

I've seen cases where applicants get through without having all the required information in their job offer letter including the job offer being valid for "one year after receiving PR". That being said I simply cannot guarantee that what you have will be sufficient so if you are able to obtain a job offer that follows IRCC's guidelines then do so.

Thanks @DelPiero07!!
