Hello,
I am confused about work experience that makes you eligible for CEC.
Specifically I have two questions:
#1. I worked for a year and a half with a company (40hrs per week, 9 to 5 job, regular tax deduction) however my contract was made not through the company itself, but trough a temp agency. I wasnt an external collaborator, I was like a normal employee though.Does it count as CEC experience? what documents do I need?
#2. I know work as a local hired staff in an embassy. I am not a diplomat, my contract "abides to local law" no tax exemptions, regular statutory holidays and all of that. Does it count as an experience?

TIA!

yes your experience with the company will be counted as 1 and half hour. the temp agency was just a medium. it will be definitely CEC.
you still need to have a letter stating responsibilities from the company. either by the parent company or your temp. association is the key.

I don't know answer to your second question. maybe try calling CIC and ask

It counts, assuming you got a T4 (and not a T4A) from the temp agency, but you'll need two letters of reference instead of just one. The temp agency is your employer, the company where you worked is your client. You need to get a letter of reference from each - the temp agency can attest to things like your dates of employment, your assignment (job title, client/location where work was performed), your salary/wages + benefits. The client letter can attest to your hours worked per week and the job duties/responsibilities. Client letter doe snot have to be from "HR" - better to come from your direct supervisor there.

Yes.
