CEC Vs FSW

Hi It seems the FSW is much much faster than CEC if you look at the average processing times for FSW 2014 ??

And all CEC applicants are obviously eligible for FSW category as well.. i feel like a fool now that i applied for CEC thinking it'b be much faster than FSW. Can anyone please clarify if i'm missing something here?

FSW is point based and CEC is PASS/FAIL based. FSW is not a clear cut application and a lot depends on the discretion of the VO. On the other hand CEC is straightforward. Either one meets the requirements or one doesn't. Processing times for CEC as per CIC, is 13 months with few exceptions. For FSW, CIC does not quote processing times for applications within Canada.

Agreed but the point is if you look at the average timelines for FSW 2014 members on this forum over the link that i posted their average processing is just 4.5 months !! beating the Average posting time posted on CIC website (22 months for FSW) by 5 times ... just curious on that.

There are people who are already landed or in MR stage already for 2014 FSW as indicated on the sheet. Doesnt make sense to me still why would CEC take that long vs FSW.

I applied under both programs. I think FSW is much faster this time. Early may applicants received COPR & Visa with in 3 months of application submitted. Later on time increased but CPC-O is still Making Decsisons within 4-5 to 5 months.
