Question:Have the applicant used any other name ?

Could anyone please advise on this question?

Name on passport and pan card : Sama Ashish Reddy

Name on Aadhar card, Btech degree and Indian employment payslips, form 16 : “S Ashish Reddy”
Here instead of my surname (Sama) they used initial (S).

Should I select ‘yes’or ‘no’ for the question “Have the applicant has used any other name ?” Post ITA question

Note: I selected ‘no’ during workpermit application

Thank you in advance for the response

I would answer "Yes."

Although "S Ashish Reddy" isn't a completely different name, it is a different version of your name that appears on official documents such as your Aadhaar, degree, payslips, and Form 16. It's better to disclose it than have IRCC notice the variation and wonder why it wasn't mentioned.

You can list "S Ashish Reddy" as the other name and include a short LOE explaining that "S" is simply the initial of your surname "Sama," which is a common naming convention in India. Mention that all the documents refer to the same person and that there has been no legal name change.

Since you answered "No" on your previous work permit application, I wouldn't be too concerned. This isn't a material change to your identity—you're simply providing additional clarification now to ensure consistency across your supporting documents. Being transparent at the eAPR stage is usually the better approach.
