I applied for CEC Express Entry as a principal Inland applicant along with my accompanying spouse shown Dependent in the file on 19th March 2021.
on 9th October 2021, I received email from IRCC for Permanent Residence Confirmation Portal. I was supposed to provide the email address I wanted to use. I was supposed to choose an option 1) if I want to act on behalf of my spouse 2) they will create new account for dependent/spouse.
I selected option 1) and replied go the email.
on 13th October 2021, my CIC account was updated with new message of “Request Letter”.
The letter states that myself and my spouse are requested to submit our passports in Islamabad Canadian Embassy, with recent photographs, and along with the letter.
The letter also mentions that if we both are in Canada we may submit passports in Ottawa office.
I’m residing in Canada at the moment and my spouse is in Pakistan. My question is why do we both have to submit our passports at Islamabad Canadian Embassy?
Usually, what I have seen is that IRCC create new pr portal where we submit our photo and confirm if we are in Canada or not. After that we receive COPR.
In my case, I did not receive any COPR but a passport request along with my spouse.
Please advise.
