Dear All,

I have a question about the CEC full time job requirement.

I have got a PGWP and I have just received a job offer from a recruit agent that offering me to work for an international bank for the position of Administrator. So, I will work for the bank, and the recruit agent will pay the wage to me on hourly basis. However, when I signed the employment contract with the agency, I found that they hire me as a Temporary Worker, who works at least 40 hours a week. Except for the vacation pay, I am not eligible for any full time benefits from the bank.

I checked the information on the CIC website and understand that i can apply for the CEC with one year of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada. Can anyone please tell my Contract Based Temporary Job qualified the requirement of "Full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience"? Do you think if I can apply the CEC with one year of fContract Based Temporary Job experience from the bank?

Thanks you!

I guess you can apply as long as you work at least 40 hours per week, and have a year working and your duties are within the NOC duties I don't see any problem. However, that's what I know right maybe someone could complement my answer.

and for the temporary word is because you can only be working during your work permit time is just that.

cheers.

Where do you see 1 year requirement on CIC website? It is 2 years .. 1 year change is proposed and not yet implemented.

1 year requirement are for canadian graduates, 2 yrs for temporal skilled workers, so the op is eligible to apply

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT'S YOUR EMPLOYEMENT STATUS, WHAT MATTER IS YOU MUST SATIFY PAID HOURS AND WEEKS DURING 1 YEAR UNDER SKILLED CATEGORY JOB

Be careful about the position, are you certain the job duties align with a skilled NOC?

Contract/temporary work is ok, and it is considered full-time if it is at least 37.5 hours per week.

You have to understand that the employment agency is your employer, not the bank, in that situation. Others have applied with temp experience (I do not know the outcome), there is nothing in the program guidelines that excludes it....

But since the temp agency is technically your employer, you might have to get 2 letters of reference, one from the temp agency and one from the client (bank). So if you do this, make sure can find a supervisor at the bank who will be willing to write the letter of reference.
