HI ALL,
I am a temporary foreign worker, was a plumber in my home country, which is India.went to a canadian post secondary institution and completed a 1 year certificate program in the same field(which is called a pre apprenticeship prog.) got a PGWP.worked with a canadian plumbing company for over a year. my PR application under FEDERAL SKILLED TRADES CLASS got rejected. It passed the 1st stage though saying it was good for processing( got AOR) someone said it wasnt my category in the 1st place but my lawyer(big lawyers in downtown toronto) said it was. It didnt need a CERTICATION,LMO..just a permanent job offer, past WORK experience, language testing, qualification from home country and completion of at least one year from a canadian post secondary institute.I HAVE IT ALL...!!!!!!.

Now can someone here please please please tell me which category I am good to apply in?? CEC?? wil i need an LMO? again I have the following:
1) one year of full time paid work experience in plumbing( regulated trade, requires license, i was hired as a plumber on PGWP)

2)HIGH PROFICIENCY CELPIP RESULTS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD YET

3) i got my canadian work experience through PGWp(open)
OR ANY OTHER.

OH AND BY THE WAY MY LEGAL STATUS HAS EXPIRED AD I HAD APPLIED FOR A BRIDGING OPEN WP, BUT MY PREVIOUS APPLICATION FOR PR ALSO GOT REJECTED RECENTLY....what do i do guys?Huh? please help.....please.

I understand from your other posts that you are in Ontario - as you know, it is a regulated occupation and unless you are in an apprenticeship program or have the Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Trades, your experience in Ontario will not be considered.

Here's how to get certified -

As for your immediate problem, since you are already out of status, I would suggest taking the first step - Meeting an Apprenticeship Training Consultant - to learn what your options are. Beyond that, you will likely need to leave Canada.

thanks for the reply jes
but my question is why would the immigration put 'skilled trades' under CEC(requiring one year of experience in a skilled trade) when a temporary foreign worker, practicing plumbing under the supervision of licensed master plumbers(and who cant get a license) can only get one year of work experience through PGWP?

also i m not 'under no status'
i called cic and confirmed that i still have an implied status. and even if i get a negative decision on my application i will have a 90 day grace period to apply under CEC.

AND I CAN DO THAT EVEN NOW,that is apply under implied status for cec.... will explain that in my cover letter when choose my answer as 'other' for question 10b) for 'STATUS' in the generic application form under personal details. but the main question still stand unanswered...

experience gained through legit means,in a skilled trade(as cec says it is) requiring license otherwise. will it be acknowledged.
i think only a person who has had experience in the similar circumstance can answer this.

surprisingly, CIC guys gave it up i have that on my phone conversation that i recorded, they said to ask HRSDC( now name changed), TO WHICH I ASKED THAT HOW CAN THEY ANSWER A QUESTION ON IMMIGRATION since you two are not intertwined...and finally she said it is upon the discretion of the immigration officer who would work on your file when you send it in.
