Hi All,

I've been invited to apply under CEC but just wondering if work with 7 hours per week can also be counted. I did both temporary and permanent jobs, however, my part time job was 7 hour per week - and without it I won't be able to make my minimum 1560 hours of work required by CIC.

Thanks.

Yes, it can be counted but do not make the mistake of counting more than 30 hours per week in your calculation.

Let's say you work 7 hours per week in one job and 30 hours per week in another - that's still 30 hours per week.

Thanks so much DelPiero07.

Yeah, I totally understand that if any job is over 30 hours per week, it will still be counted as 30 hours per week.

Specifically, I have a total of 330 hours from the part time job (of 7 hours per week). After I finished this, I got another job (of 40 hours per week) which I did for 22 weeks and after this contacted ended, I did another 37.5 hours per week job for 20 weeks.

What I have done is

(1) divide the 330 hours (from the first 7 hour-per-week job) by 30 = 11
and then add the 2 full time jobs (22) and (20) to make:

11 + 22 + 20 = 53.

Going by your response, did you mean my first job shouldn't be counted?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

You can count it.

However if you worked only in that job for such an extensive time I just wonder, where you also studying during that time?

Remember that you cannot count work experience in Canada during full time studies.

Thanks so much DelPiero07.

Yes, you would meet the minimum of 1 year of work experience (assuming all positions are NOC skill level O, A, or B).

You would just need to be sure that none of this experience is older than 3 years, at the time you apply.
