Hi,
I got married in October 2020 and my spouse is Canadian PR. I’m also in Canada on closed work permit and I have more than one year experience here . I created my profile for express entry and received invitation under CEC class. While completing the application IRCC is asking for police clearance certificate for my spouse who is a Canadian PR. While filling the application I have given my status as married and mentioned spouse as unaccompaning .
Can anyone suggest why police clearance is asked for spouse . Is it really needed ? If it is really needed , then last 10 year places of residence Police clearance certificate or just Canadian Police clearance?
Any suggestions will be appreciated
Thank you

Whether your spouse will be accompanying you or not, you have to provide police certificates, because your spouse's inadmissibility would make you inadmissible as well.

Police certificates are needed for a those countries lived at for 6 months or more over the past 10 years.

I am not aware of exceptions when spouse is a PR already. For Canadian citizens it wouldn't be required because a citizen cannot be inadmissible.
