CEC application (critical question)

hi guys i am eligible to apply for CEC as of today. however i am not willing to file my application until i get married. Because i do not want to wait another 3 years for my spouse to join me in Canada from Pakistan. INSHALLAH i will get married by this year end or start of next year.
my question is that if i apply in CEC before the end of this year that is before express entry umbrella comes into the picture and get married by next year start say by Feb of 2015, can i still update my application saying that i have a dependent and include her. and she can also get the PR with me..

how long CIC takes before they actually start processing your application and you cannot make any changes onwards?

or is it better for me to wait get married first and then apply next year in Express entry pool?

you should apply ASAP, you can add you wife later on, don't take any chances with Express entry.

Yes!

CIC requires updates on any change of family status ASAP while your application is in process, until the day that you land. If you marry or have children before you land, you are required to add them to your application. If you do not, you would be considered to have "misrepresented" your family situation, and would not be able to sponsor them later, you could even lose your PR.

You can add any time you want before they issue you COPR or before sending your PPR. IF you submit your application in early September, 2014 then CIC will start processing your application in Late February, 2015 or Early March 2015 (based on current timeline). So I think you will have enough time to add your spouse to your application. I would say don't take any chances with Express Entry.

i am currently in good standing here in Canada. I have a permanent job in the same field as of my studies. and the limited info about express entry on CEC website says that People who have a job or Provincial nomination will get some edge over other. but all of you guys are right currently CEC is a non point based system and next year express entry will be point based and no one is certain about it.

Like i said i am planning to get married by the end of this year and early next year and will sure add my wife to the application. Because if i get the PR and then apply for my spouse it will take 36 months on an avg for her to enter in canada. its definitely not a wise call.

i will put my all efforts in to apply by Nov end or December Start so that i can buy some additional time to get marry and add her info by March or April next year.
