CEC applicant with 2 year WP - employer sells business

Hi there

I am not sure this is the right forum (admins please advise if I have to post this somewhere else):

A friend of mine has a 2 year closed WP (for one specific employer). SHe has 6 months of her one year to qualify for CEC. Now she found out that the business who hired her will get sold. The new owners consider keeping her employed, however, the business name and her tasks/positions will change. My/her question: Is it possible to work for a closed WP if the business name changes or the new owner intends to change her tasks/title?

The name change of business is issue.Because as per closed WP,u r entitled to work with that employer only whose name is mentioned in WP.Moreover in paystubs also name change will come and it will be problem during applying for CEC.The best way is ask new company to apply for new LMO AND ASK UR FRIEND TO GET CLEAR EXPERINCE CERTIFICATE FROM OLD COMPANY AND ALSO GET LETTER MENTIONING HIS ALL DUTIES with start date/end date and salary which will be used while applying under CEC.

thanks so much. But if she has to apply for a new LMO can she continue work during this time or does she have to stop? The business will be sold the next couple of days and the deal will be sealed so all the changes will come into effect basically within the next 10 to 14 days.

thanks. I guess you are right. I will refer her to a lawyer. I would not feelcomfortable giving her advice and then she is getting into trouble... thanks again
