Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding work experience under cec. I gained two work experiences under noc b from two different company one is 5 months (sept 26, 2016 to march 10, 2017), the other is 7 months (march 6, 2017 to present). My problem is from my first employer I worked 30-40 hours but there are some weeks like on december I only worked for 20 hours/week due to lab closue because of holiday etc. But my second job Now I worked 40 hours per week. Do you think I will not get any problem with regards for work experience calculation of number of hours and weeks? Please help me on this.

Thank you.

So first employment 24 weeks plus second employment 32 weeks if you agree that calculation is correct you have potentially 4 weeks over the 1 year work experience. It will depend how many weeks were affected by shorter working hours. If the lab closure days were statutory holiday days e.g. Christmas, New Year I would have thought IRCC would still count that as a full working week. If the lab was closed for longer periods then it would be prudent to total the hours worked in those weeks divide by 30 and round down to get an equivalent weeks total. There is also accrued holidays to consider, IRCC should make an allowance for a reasonable amount of paid holiday (2 weeks) but this is at the officers discretion so most advice is to ignore that factor. Hopefully someone with more experience than me will confirm this interpretation.

Hi,

Thank you for you reply,

Yeah so when I got the letter of employment from my first employer, she just state there that I am working fulltime and permanently for 30-40 hours per week. Is that good enough? Currently I do have 458 crs points, I hope this weeks draw I will be able to receive ITA.

I have one more question because based on their guidelines for the content of the letter of enployment it says their annual salary. Since I only started with them last september 26, 2016. So my annual salary only reported on my T4 was only from sept to december 2016. Thank would be okay?

But before that I am working part time on my other job as parking attendant but it is not categorized as noc a, b, and 0 job. Do I still need a letter of employment from that company? Or I will only submit those jobs that are related under Noc job B.

Thank you.

It is important that all the information you submit is consistant. For example if the letter of employment states a pay rate per hour worked this could be compared to your T4 for Sept to Dec 2016. If the T4 does not reflect full time working (minimum 30 hours per week) at the hourly rate given in the employers letter you could be asked for more information to demonstrate the hours worked e.g. paystubs.

The EE profile asks for a full work history so presumeably you have included the job as a car park attendant. As you are not claiming that as a qualifying employment you may not need a supporting letter from an employer but I would advise you to check that against the IRCC guidelines. When an ITA is issued any employment listed in your EE profile is automatically carried forward into your PR application and each employment has an associated upload section which has to have something uploaded or PR application cannot be submitted. At the time the ITA is issued the EE profile is locked and cannot be altered.

Good luck for this weeks draw.

Hi,

I did not include my car park job because I am working with them only part time with no regular shift per week. Been with them for 2 years, so what i included on my work experience on EE profile were my two jobs under NOC B.

In my case there was a question regarding primary occupation which noc code I am gonna use the first job or the second job?

Thank you.

In addition, for my first job I have all the documents required like letter of employment, T4 for 2016, notice of assessment, record of employment, and paystub. While on my second job (current job) I only have pay stubs and letter of employment, but dot have t4 since it is just yet end of 2017.

Did you get Stat Holiday pay ? if you did that Christmas holidays should be counted ?

Yeah just happened that due to the nature of work we are being paid bi weekly, so when I check my roe there are times I only worked 57, 51, and 50 hours.

That is correct - on the EE profile you ONLY include eligible work experience (it is not eligible because it is not skilled, has nothing to do with being part-time).; The car park job is not eligible, therefore you do not include it. (Later, if you get the ITA and have to complete the full application, then you include EVERYTHING).

In my case there was a question regarding primary occupation which noc code I am gonna use the first job or the second job?

Little difference since they are both NOC B. At one time had seen a rule where you use the NOC in which you have the most experience, but I can't find it now, so it may no longer apply.

In addition, for my first job I have all the documents required like letter of employment, T4 for 2016, notice of assessment, record of employment, and paystub. While on my second job (current job) I only have pay stubs and letter of employment, but dot have t4 since it is just yet end of 2017.

Those documents are excellent. For your 2nd job, if your paystubs show cumulative earnings, you do not need to provide all of them, only the most recent.

So, this shows 3 weeks where you worked fewer than 30 hours. Since you worked four weeks beyond the one year requirement, you clearly have made up the extra time. It will count as one year.

Annual salary is based on one year from the date of employment, is NOT the same thing as annual earnings based on a calendar year. Example, if your annual salary is 60,000 (5,000 per month) and you worked for four months in 2016, then you would show earnings of 20,000 on your T4. IRCC knows this.

HOWEVER, if you are paid an hourly wage, then you do not earn a salary (fixed amount every month). In that case, you simply explain how you are remunerated (e.g. Mr x earns 20.00 per hour, and works 35 hours per week").

Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply, yeah actually since I do have a two year experience outside canada as a college instructor noc a, I made that one as my primary occupation on my ee profile and was suprised that I am also qualified under fsw, so now on the summary of my profile I met the qualifications for both fsw and cec. So I just keep this one? Thank you

Hi,

Yeah my paystub from my second jon shows cumulative earnings but it doesnt show the total hours that I worked for. So still I have all the paystubs starting from my first day of work till the recent one. Hopefully they will have a draw tom. :)

Yeah I am only paid hourly so on my letter from my employer only states my salary for 2016 which covers september 26,2016-December 31,2016. Do you think it all enough? Although I have t4 and record of employment from them as well.
