Hello Everyone,

Basically I am just a beginner here. I had a thought of Immigrating to Canada.

I just want to know how much work experience is required to land on a JOB in Canada .

About me : A Network Engineer with 3+ years of Experience working in India . (CCIE certified)

Can anyone advice me on this. Should I stay here(India) more then Move to Canada.

Thanks in Advance .

Hi - Did you try monster.ca, linkedin etc to research on what employers are looking for? I think you can take a look at the job requirements in your field, research, and take an informed decision on whether to move or not.

I do not think anyone can recommend if you should move or not. It is entirely your personal and professional reasoning.

Hello Xylene,

Thanks very much for the response.
I am planning to move to Canada for better lifestyle. My query was intended to get the general idea of Experience required for a Skilled immigrant.
And as you said looking at job portals are the best way.

I concur with xylene, you have to spend the time to research potential employment opportunities and in which provinces they are to be found.

Having said that, a CCIE in 3 years is pretty damn impressive if you have the experience to back it up! Last I checked there were only around 30,000 - 40,000 estimated CCIEs world wide, so if there's no demand for you in Canada then the rest of us CCNA/CCNP-levels are doomed. :p

being a CCIE is good man, but honestly , only limited to CISCO that too in R/S is not gonna make the cut these days

Yeah, that's true but the OP didn't mention what other fields they have experience in. Still being focused on one specialization and achieving the highest level in it can also be an advantage at times.

If you are in Canada with experience in checkpoint, Solarwind, minimum CCNP, have not less than 4years networking experience, a great plus if you've worked with ACI and currently reside in Alberta or willing to move to Edmonton. You can reach me on kart042000@gmail.com, i can refer you for a job available currently.
