CBSA Declaration Card - Duration of Stay query

Can anybody answer this query please. I'm hoping to gain access to Canada for 6 months (depending on the outcome of the Immigration Officer's decision). When completing the CBSA Declaration Card before entry to Canada do I fill in the 'duration of stay' or just leave it blank?
