Cash limit while traveling

I am canadian PR, On the declaration form we have to mention if we bring cash more than 10000$, but that limit is for per person or family?

It is per person (and your immigration status is irrelevant). However, CBSA does not look favorably upon you if the money belongs to you and you give it to someone else to hold (i.e., your child).

I fail to see why this is always made into such an issue. Just declare it and be safe.
