Hi,

I recently logged onto CAS via the CIC webiste to view the status of my application to sponsor my wife.

It said "We received your application on Dec 7th.
We began reviewing your application on Dec 30th
We made a decision on your case and sent you a letter on Dec 30th"

Of course I'm waiting for the letter to arrive (I'm overseas) but.... same day processing? Thats got to be bad... Anyone have any feed back on the procesing times for succesful sponsorship apps?

We are both beside ourselves....

One more thing, since I paid online by credit card if my application was rejected they should refund the fees (for immigration app) I guess that would be one way I could tell if it had been refused (the sponsorship)... Anyone know how long it takes for them refund the money? Frankly I dont care at all about the $$$ I just want to be able to stop pacing around the room.... to know either way would be better.

I dont understand why they can't say "Descion Made APPROVED" or "Descion made REFUSED" this waiting is like torture...

nothing to worry about they sarted to process your app on the 7 of December and on the 30 of December they sent out the letter with there descision. Not to worry it should be good news. If they have not contacted you by phone or letter for any aditional information then you should not worry.

my letter of there descision was received 2 weeks after i saw desicion made on CAS.

Instead, try reading more on this forum and you'll see from others' timelines that it's quite normal (for the sponsorship part of the application at least)! To put your mind at ease, this forum is the right place :D we've all been there! Don't worry, unless you have a very unusual situation, an incomplete application, or obvious barriers to being accepted (like criminal record or sponsor on welfare or something) it seems they won't reject you for no reason just because they feel like it.

Good luck,
TLH

Thanks you 2 for the good "vibes" but I have read as much as I could on the forum and thats why I PANIC!

Everyone seems to have had a time during which the CAS status was "In process"

Mine, never was. 2 days ago CAS couldnt find my file, Yesterday it was decsion made... so yeah I panicked..

Anyway thanks again and I'll just keep my fingers crossed!

Exactly the same thing happened to me, and it was a positive decision. I believe that's just normal procedure.

Ditto. The case was opened and approved on the same day, after 17 days in limbo.

leepolisci, you have two applications that need to be processed.

First is your application to be approved as sponsor. This is done in Mississauga and in most cases, the processing is finished on the same day it began. With most people, the first thing they see when they log in on Ecas is 'Decision made', so your application is going by perfectly normally.

The second is the application for permanent residency by the person you are sponsoring. This is processed at the visa office and THAT application always takes more than one day to process. THAT is the application where you will see 'In Process' on Ecas. And I'm sure you will have no complaints of it being done too fast ;)

there's no need to worry. status 'In Process' appears when the visa office starts processing after the 1st stage is approved and Mississauga forwards the application to the visa office overseas.
sponsorship approval (1st stage) is usually done the same day they start it. so you definitely should be happy as it's approved! otherwise they put other comments on ecas.
congratulations!
