Carrying funds in British Pounds instead of CAD for landing

Dear Folks

I am suppose to land in Canada in few weeks time from UK.
I got the visa last year.
Now planning to make a first trip for 3 days and come back to UK and will be going again in September.
It would be grateful, if someone clear my doubt about PROOF OF FUNDS for 1ST TIME LANDING as a PR.

Q1: Can i carry funds in GBP BRITISH POUNDS INSTEAD OF CAD$10,500 in the form of DEMAND DRAFT?
or do i need to take CAD$ in DD?

Q2: I am a single , how much funds i should carry in the form of DD & Cash ?

You can carry in any currency with equal exchange value to the required funds either cash or DD. As you are single I would say you may carry Sterling pounds equal to $ 11,000/- or more as you may need money for your expences for living till you find a job.
