Carrying CASH money to Canada

Dear all
what is the maximum amount we can carry in CASH to canada (I & MY WIFE) ?
kindly note that my money is in CAD$.
i heared that it is 10000 CAD$ (but i dont know if it is by person or per family)

CAD$10,8333 is presently the required amount for a single prson. For couple please refer to CIC's website. Also you dont need to have the money in cash. People even take bank drafts or just official proofs e.g bank statements etc.

There is no limit on taking cash/check/draft/Travelers checks etc. to Canada as long as it is yours. As another member say, you don't necessarily need to carry cash, it can be in any form. You need to declare (by law) amount more than 10,000 CAD when you enter Canada, I am sure you will declare, but just to let you know, if you hide some of it, it can cost you your arm and leg.

No problem to bring more than CAD$10000.00 but you would have to declare it at the border.
