Cannot visit Canada before COPR/Visa expiry

Hi all,

My one time visa expires on April 3rd 2020. I was supposed to go for US vacation and go to Canada for soft landing in March but due to the current outbreak of Corona I am thinking of skipping it.

In this case, is PRTD the method? When should one apply for PRTD? Has anyone successfully done it?

PRTD is a travel document for people with PR status to return to Canada.

You haven't completed the landing process so you are NOT a PR.

You need to land before your CoPR expires, or you'll have to start over and apply for PR again from scratch.

You have to do the landing before the COPR/Visa expires, else, you will have to go through the PR process again.
