Cannot apply on IRCC website

Hi everyone,

Currently I live in the us, and I was hired by a university in Canada as a professor, I have a positive LMIA, and at this point I need to apply for work permit, or permanent visa.


I am trying to apply for these online. However on https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/mycic/home I cannot find any way to apply. It is taking me to express entry, and at the end telling me that I am not eligible. I tried International Experience Canada, online application etc, but I cannot reach anywhere.

How do we apply for work permit or permanent visa online? Am i missing something very obvious?

The visit/study/work permit option is there. You must have made a wrong selection at some point.

Log out and use the Come to Canada tool to get your reference code for the app, then log back in and input it.

Writing this for future applicants.

At the end, although the LMIA that I received advised me to apply for permanent residence or work permit, I should have applied for the temporary work permit in the immigration menu.
 
An update: My temporary residence application was refused. It says I need to apply r a work permit, but I cannot find this option on the website. if I follow apply for work permit links, it takes me to login, and from there the same circle continues. I am completely lost. Can anyone prepare a video tutorial? It must be that some links are not visible to me.
 
On https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/mycic/home, in the drop down 'immigration' menu, what should i click on? if I click on "work" it says

Hello, i am wondering what did you do after all this? did you finally got your work permit or what exactly ? thanks a lot
 
I received my work permit in 2019.

The mistake was this. when you click on links etc, the page opens but the top menu does not change. You need to look below in the page and there you will find the new links. It is quite a stupid design ( i am a cs prof so i know). No wonder everyone hates any canadian-govt prepared website. They have no usability

Very simple with ivisa application form
