Hi , I have applied for Provincial nominee based non express PR application in October'2025. I have a representative who applied for me and I have access to the PR portal. And I have not received the AOR yet. However, I must have to dis-associate the representative and get full authorization over my application. Can I do this at this stage ? Could it make my application delayed ?

Yes, you can remove your representative at this stage even if you have not yet received your AOR. As the principal applicant, you always have the right to cancel a representative and take full control of your PR application. To do this, you need to submit a new IMM 5476 (Use of a Representative) form indicating that you are cancelling your representative, and send it through the IRCC webform if you cannot upload it directly in the PR portal. In most cases, this does not delay the processing of your application, as changing or removing a representative does not affect eligibility or your position in the processing queue. However, it may take a few weeks for IRCC to update their system, and during that time, communication might still go to your current representative. Before proceeding, make sure you have copies of all documents submitted and access to your application details. Overall, cancelling your representative at this stage should not negatively impact your PR application.

Thank you so much for your kind response. Can the representative do it for me or shall I do it by myself?

Greetings ! Is there anyone can help me here. I have spoken with IRCC and they suggested me to first link the application in the GC key and then cancel the rep. However, when I try to link in it says based on the info we found no application. Can anyone please help me?

No, first cancel the rep, then you will be able to link it.

If your consultant submitted the application through the representative portal, the application is still technically linked to their account. Until the Use of Representative (IMM 5476) is cancelled, you usually cannot link it to your own GCKey.
Submit the IMM 5476 form (Cancel Representative) to IRCC through the IRCC Webform.
  • After IRCC removes the representative, you should be able to link it to your GCKey.
Small information mismatch
When linking, the system is very strict. Even small differences can cause “no application found.”

Make sure the following details are exactly the same as in the application
  • Family name / given name spelling
  • Passport number
  • Place of birth
  • Marital status
  • Number of family members on the application
  • Application number (if you have it)
Even one incorrect field can prevent linking.
